A family of lions lives in a library, where characters pop off the pages, vowels sing, and words take on lives of their own. In the first episode, a storybook tornado blows into the library and makes a terrible mess. The short "e" sound is featured. In the second episode, Lionel ties himself up with ropes and tries to escape without magic words. The short "i" sound is featured. In the third episode, Leona keeps the whole family awake because she wants a queen to touch the moon. The "double o-oo" sound is featured.
